Lisa Shanahan began working with children and families in 1991. She taught in a variety of preschool and early intervention programs, including Head Start, for nearly a decade while earning a Bachelor's Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in Child Development and Early Education.

Lisa earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 2002 and has since been serving children, teens, families and adults as an outpatient mental health therapist. She has specialized training in play therapy and trauma focused treatment but provides services for a variety of issues and presenting difficulties. In 2006, she earned her Oregon State License in Clinical Social Work. Lisa currently runs a full-time private counseling and consultation practice in Downtown Eugene, Oregon. She also provides professional training, consultation and clinical supervision for students, parents, educators and mental health professionals.
